We drove down to Becker, MN for the start of the ride in a bit less than 3 hours. Our first attempt at an early dinner brought us to Gily’s Bar & Grill – not to confused with famous Gilly’s Texas dance hall. We were greeted by a drunk on the sidewalk. Walking in, we were greeted by a very loud country band with an enthusiastic drummer…and some enthusiastic drinkers draped over the bar. Wanda mouthed, NOT HERE, and we headed out the door. We had pizza and pop at Godfather’s.
After registration I found a corner by a vending machine to set up for the night. The routine came back without any thought. All I need is for my infernal runny nose to cease: a summer headcold on top of allergies is a trial. Tonight I sleep with Kleenex close at hand.
Below is my little slice of inflatable paradise.
