This morning 1-2 inches of powder snow freshened up the trails. At each trail junction we said, “This is pretty good…let’s keep going”. And so we kept going: by my calculations for 28 km, or 17.4 miles. As always, the forest in winter had it’s delicate beauty: snow covered branches and the expanses of several sleeping lakes. We saw badger tracks along the way, but nothing larger. We finished in a little more than three hours.
It looks like we’ll have cold temps through the weekend, which will allow for a night ski by headlamp after dinner on Monday.
